Creative Writing Course (8-10 Yrs)

Service Description

This is ideal for students from year 4-6 in Queensland based schools. Students will delve into the magic of the author's toolbox and learn how to put these skills to use in school and at home. In these workshops, you will: - Learn the techniques you need to craft your own original stories. - Deconstruct texts in order to understand the skills authors employ in their work. - Hone your ability to SHOW not TELL through describing events, happenings, characters and settings. - Use your five senses to become a master storyteller- making the reader do the work by choosing the right details to share. - Work on the basics like paragraph and sentence structure, grammar and punctucation. You can't be a master till you master the basics! - Read and share your stories in a workshop environment where others input helps you refine your work. - Get feedback from a trained teacher each week on your stories. Designed for 8-10-year-olds, these workshops develop young writers taking them from budding scribbler to wonderful wordsmith!
